H&HS Sergeant Major
Sergeant Major William W. Wiseman United States Marine Corps After graduation, Pvt Wiseman reported to Delta Company, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, then attended Stinger Gunner Operator School in Fort Bliss, Texas. PFC Wiseman returned to Delta Company and served as a Stinger gunner, scout and light armored vehicle crew chief. In 1993, Cpl Wiseman transferred to 1st Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment. He was also promoted to Sergeant and served as a section leader and Platoon Sergeant with H&HS Company until 1994. In July 1995, Sgt Wiseman attended the Aviation Structures Mechanic E Safety Equipment Course and the AV-8A Escape System Organization/Maintenance Course. Later that year, Sgt Wiseman transferred to Marine Attack Squadron 231. While there he served as a noncommissioned officer-in-charge and deployed with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit. In 1998, SSgt Wiseman deployed to Bosnia with the 26th MEU aboard the USS Wasp. In 1999, he received orders to recruiting duty where he served as a canvassing recruiter, NCOIC and officer selection office assistant for Recruiting Station Houston. GySgt Wiseman reported to VMA-211 in Yuma in 2002 where he served as NCOIC, Division Chief and Squadron Gunnery Sergeant. In 2003, he deployed on the USS Bonhomme-Richard in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2004, he transferred to VMA-214 and deployed with the 11th MEU on board the USS Belleau Wood in support of OIF-II in Al Asad, Iraq. In February 2005, GySgt Wiseman was frocked to the rank of First Sergeant and reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 7 in Twentynine Palms, Calif. There he served as the First Sergeant for Maintenance Company until his deployment to Al Asad in 2006, when he served as the Company First Sergeant for H&S Company. In 2007, 1stSgt Wiseman was responsible to train and prepare the Marines from Motor Transportation Company for their deployment to Iraq in February 2008. After his deployment, 1stSgt Wiseman was selected for promotion to the rank of Sergeant Major in November 2008, and he was designated the Combat Logistics Battalion 7 Sergeant Major. In September 2009, SgtMaj Wiseman returned to Marine Corps Air Station Yuma where he currently serves as Squadron Sergeant Major for Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron. |
