This change is required by standards of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Universal Postal Union (UPU). Under the rules of these international agencies, lithium metal or lithium-ion batteries cannot be sent as mail matter on international commercial air transportation, including to or from APO (Army Post Office), FPO (Fleet Post Office) and DPO (Diplomatic Post Office) locations. This prohibition does not apply to lithium batteries when mailed within the United States. Electronic equipment with non-removable lithium batteries may not be sent by international or military mail. 5. *NEW* GUARDIAN ANGELS FOR SOLDIER'S PETSBack to topAre you deploying and need to find a temporary home for your pet? Are you in a hardship situation but want to keep your pet? Guardian Angels might be able to help you find a great foster family to care for your pet/s while you are away or in a time of need. Guardian Angels for Soldier's Pet C is an ALL Volunteer 501c3 nonprofit organization supportng the men and women (active duty and veterans) of the United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, Reserves, and their beloved pets to ensure the pets are reunited with their owners following a deployment to harm's way (combat or peace-keeping mission) or a hardship affecting our wounded warriors and homeless veterans. There are no fees to the Military Service Member pet owner for this service. The only thing they do ask is the pet owner be responsible for costs related to their pets' care (food, medications, and any required vet care) with the exception where the approved foster home (pet is place in) desires to cover any of the above expenses. Our ability to assist is dependent upon our available foster homes and other resources. Each submission is addressed on an individual case basis.
